Flexible Salary

  1. NTU provides flexible salary and additional pay to faculty members with outstanding performance in accordance with the NTU Standards Governing the Funding of Flexible Salaries and Incentives to Recruit and Retain Exceptional Talent.
    1. The following are eligible incentive recipients:
      1. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of the NTU Regulations for the Establishment of Chair Professorships.
      2. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Guidelines for the Establishment of Distinguished Professorships and the Payment of Additional Salary.
      3. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Operational Guidelines for Flexible Additional Pay to Faculty and Research Fellows.
      4. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Operational Guidelines for the Payment of Additional Teaching and Research Stipends to Faculty and Research Fellows.
      5. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of the NTU Operational Directions for Offering Incentives for Newly Employed Special Outstanding Talent.
    2. Incentive points are calculated and granted according to the aforementioned guidelines and directions.
  2. Incentives for newly hired exceptional talent in accordance with the “Guidelines for Incentives for Newly Hired Exceptional Talent”(recipients of the incentives for NTU chair, additional pay for distinguished positions, flexible additional pay, and additional pay for teaching and research are not eligible to apply):
    1. Subjects eligible for the incentive are newly appointed full-time instructors (or researchers) in the organization who meet any one of the following qualifications:
      1. The recruit was/is not a full-time lecturer or researcher at another academic research institution in Taiwan.
      2. Held a position at a foreign academic research institution during the 5 years prior to being hired on at NTU.
    2. Incentive amounts:
      1. Professor (Senior Research Fellow): Not less than NT$80,000 per month
      2. Associate Professor (Associate Research Fellow): Not less than NT$60,000 per month
      3. Assistant Professor (Assistant Research Fellow): Not less than NT$30,000 per month (it is currently NT$40,000)
